Plastic Finishing Media

Plastic media is used within the metal finishing industry for surface preparation and improvement on most metals as aluminum, brass, copper and zinc. Due to it's light weight and softness compared to conventional medias, it will reduce distortion, impingement and burr rollover while producing excellent finishes prior to plating. Fine finishes as well as aggressive cutting can be achieved depending the abrasive material added. Contact us to help you determine what plastic media is best for your application along with

Polyester plastic media is the standard composition and is formulated as either low or high density. The low density media is 45 lbs. Per cubic foot is usually used on softer materials to deburr, blend and preparation for plating. The high density polyester provides excellent cut for all materials and at the same time produces improved finishes compared to ceramic media. [ sizes ]

Synthetic plastic media is even lighter and softer than the conventional polyester plastic media. This reduces surface hammering and provides a smoother surface condition. Synthetic media produces a bright, reflective, matte finish, along with a low Ra. It tends to create less foam and easier to waste treat than the polyester media. It is ideal for applications requiring exceptional finishes.
